How to avoid being labeled a racist (R)

It really isn't hard.

Since the killing of George Floyd there has been a rash of firing, suspensions, and removals from office because of racist comments or displays. Here in Harris County after posting a racist meme the Chair of the Republican Party resigned his position months before officially taking the office. He also lost his job with the City of Pasadena. He is just one of 6 other republican county chairs in Texas who have been asked to resign by the Governor or encouraged to resign for posting racist comments on Facebook.

Maybe the (R)s need a little training on how to avoid being labeled a racist (R). Here are some tips:

  1. Don't be a racist. Racism is bad. Very bad. (it's also 2020. You shouldn't have to be told this.)
  2. Think before you post something on social media.
  3. If you think what you want to post might be considered racist, it probably is. Don't post it.
  4. Don't use racist slurs. You know what they are. Just don't say them. Ever.
  5. Remember that social media and video are forever. They never go away. What you write or do might go viral and available for your next possible employer to find. No one will hire a racist.
  6. Don't display racist symbols. That means take your confederate flag off your pick up truck before driving to work, unless you really are a racist. If you are a racist fly the flag so we know who you are. The Confederate flag is a flag for losers, literally and it has become a symbol of racism.
  7. And if you really have the urge to show your racism, do it in the comfort of your own home and using your inside your head voice.
If by chance you make an unfortunate comment that could be considered racist, apologize. Sincerely. Then learn from your stupidity.

NASCAR driver finds an excuse to leave NASCAR

Ray Ciccarelli is/was a NASCAR driver. NASCAR gave him the perfect excuse to leave the sport, banning the confederate flag from it's properties. That includes the parking lot, the stands, the pits, and cars. Ciccarelli took a stand and has announced he is leaving. Up until now no one knew who he was. Much like what the confederate flag symbolizes, Ray wasn't a winner.

Ray is what we call "filler" in sports. He was there to fill out the crowd on the track. No one wants to see a race between the top 10 drivers. A race with 20 or more is much more exciting. NASCAR gave Ray a great excuse to bow out of a sport he wasn't very good at. I am sure NASCAR will miss him dearly.

If you ever been to a NASCAR race the confederate flag is everywhere. My first trip to a track included sitting behind a guy with a t-shirt that said "You fly yours, I'll fly mine". Whatever bitch.

Here is a quick video of Ray's car catching fire. Luckily Ray was fine.

Texas is #2 in new cases of COVID. Second to California

Come on Texas!

This just can't be good. Yesterday Texas have over 2400+ new COVID Cases. The day before, 1700+. We are right behind California. Greg Abbott must be very proud.

Racist Republican County Chairs tell Abbott to buzz off

It's got to be bad when the top republican in the state calls for the resignation of 2 Republican county chairs. Greg Abbott did just that and they have told him to buzz off. The Chair of the Texas Republican Party has also asked all 5 chairs to resign.

Bexar County GOP Chairwoman Cynthia Brehm, Harris County GOP Chairman-Elect Keith Nielsen, Harrison County GOP Chair Lee Lester, Nueces County GOP Chairman Jim Kaelin, and Comal County GOP Chairwoman Sue Gafford Piner posted racist meme and/or conspiracy theories to their Facebook pages.  Abbott has called for the resignation of Brehm and Kaelin. Here is the status of each:

Harris County GOP Chairman-Elect Keith Nielsen. Resigned before taking office. Removed from his position as Pasadena Planning Commissioner.

Nueces County GOP Chairman Jim Kaelin. Has refused to step down even after Abbott asked him to.

Bexar County GOP Chairwoman Cynthia Brehm. Has refused to step down even after Abbott asked her to.

Comal County GOP Chairwoman Sue Gafford Piner. Has refused to step down but has bravely stepped away from Facebook.

Harrison County GOP Chair Lee Lester. Has refused to step down.

No Place but Texas. Literally.

Republicans. The new Hot Tub Party.

Republicans. As popular as herpes at a hot tub party.

Donald Trump and the entire Republican Party's popularity has been been in free fall especially with the mishandling of the COVID crisis and protests of racism. Even members of his own party are beginning to jump out of the Hot Tub Party when Trump arrives. Here is a short list from the Civil Rights Project:
General Jim Mattis (ret.), Trump’s former Secretary of Defense
Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT)
President George W. Bush
General Colin Powell (Ret.), former Secretary of State
General John Kelly (ret.), Trump’s former Chief of Staff and former DHS Secretary
Defense Secretary Mark Esper
Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley
On Friday a staggering 89 former Defense officials (some Republicans, some Democrats, many of unknown affiliations) signed onto a statement saying the U.S. military must never be used to violate Americans’ constitutional rights.
The republican party has turned into a nasty, gross, Hot Tub Party, a giant Petri dish for cultivating the worst of America and elected officials are beginning to jump out, take a shower, and hope they are not infected or affected at the polls. Unfortunately it is too late.

Republicans up for re-election had their opportunity in February to remove the virus in their party. They had the opportunity to disinfect their Hot Tub Party but they didn't. Instead they uncomfortably sat in the tub looking at each other waiting for someone to break out and leave. Now it is just too late.

Come November the Hot Tub Party will be over. Wiped cleaned. And drained.

Another Republican elected official should resign in Galveston County

A precinct chair in Galveston County, Kevin Holland II, just couldn't let a peaceful march against racism go without an ill advised statement or following it up with another one, and then explaining in a "fun" way. While people of all colors, young and old, male and female, gathered in the hot sun to call for changes to protect people of color as well as our police men and women, this guy had to have a laugh.

Kevin joined another elected official, the Chair elect of the Harris County Republican Party, Keith Nielsen, who posted a racist meme to his Facebook page. Keith has since resigned and he was removed as Chair of the Pasadena Planning Committee. Showing off your racism almost always leads to bad things happening to you. Americans do not like racists, white supremacists,  or nazis.

Americans and the military fight to support our rights to peacefully protest. They also fight to support the rights of people who want to make racist memes or statements, but that does not guarantee a place at the table. In fact it might guarantee an escort through the door.

Joking about racism isn't funny. Ask Keith.

UPDATE: The precinct chair's Facebook posts have been removed. He should now resign his position and take some time to reflect on the moment.

Harris County Republican Party in free fall. Chair resigns

It's been a bad week for the chair elect of the Harris County Republican Party.

First he posts a meme of a quote from Martin Luther King, the black civil rights leader, with a picture of a banana. That cost him his job as the Chair of the Pasadena Planning Commission. Then he resigned as chair elect of the party. He was to begin his tenure on August 3.

Coming off a devastating loss in 2018 which resulted in every Republican in Harris County losing (except 1) they now enter the 2020 election with no Chair and running on the coattails of the head racist in charge, Donald Trump. This can't end well.

This isn't the first time the HCRP posted something inappropriate. Last year the Chair, Paul Simpson, used the Holocaust Remembrance Day to make an offensive political statement with a post on the official  county Facebook page. Hopefully it will be their last.

Newly elected Harris County Republican Party Chair removed from (an) office

It's sad that we have to remind the members of the Republican Party that racism is bad. Very bad. In fact it has never been anything but bad. Some of the Chairs of the Republican Party are learning the hard way, case in point the newly elected chair of the Harris County Republican Party, Keith Nielsen.

Keith posted a racist meme (which has been removed) on Facebook quoting Martin Luther King. The meme also had a pic of a banana next to the Black civil rights leader's quote. It wasn't a fruit salad, or a medley of fresh tropical fruits and he wasn't in the middle of a well balanced meal when he created the meme. It was a banana. It was racist. We know it. He knows it. The Pasadena City Council knows it and took action.

Keith is, or was, the Chair of the Pasadena Planning Commission. City Council Member Cody Ray Wheeler called on the Mayor to remove him. From his letter to the Mayor:
I am writing to demand the removal of Keith Nielsen from the Pasadena, Texas Planning Commission following his racist social media post.
In a city with a dark history of racial oppression, the former home of the Ku Klux Klan, it is our duty as leaders to remove racism in every form, stem and root. In the midst of national outrage over the murders of people of color, Keith Nielsen’s recent actions have done nothing but fan the flames and cause more harm to the people of our community. I urge you to Immediately strip Keith Nelsen from his position so we can move on from this disgrace and begin the healing process. Every day Keith Nielsen remains, is an endorsement of his racist views and cast a dark shadow over our city and your leadership.
It is incumbent on all of us, that no position of power be held by a person with racist views.

The city took quick action. Keith has lost his position. Now it is up to the Harris County Republican Party to decide what to do with Keith. The choice is pretty clear. In 2018 their party cratered, losing every seat to a Democrat, except one. It's not going to get any better especially when the leader of their party is a racist in chief.

In the words of their great leader: Let's see what happens.

Newly elected Chair of the Harris County Republican Party, Keith Nielsen, asked to resign

Leave it to Congressman Dan Crenshaw to call for the resignation of the newly elected Chair of the Republican Party while turning a blind eye to the racist at the top of the party. From The Texas Tribune:
U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Houston Republican, said in a statement to the Tribune that "Nielsen has no place in our party. Not now. Not ever" — and called his post "a sad reminder that such blatant ignorance and bigotry still exists."
Someone ought to tell Crenshaw to look to the White House for racism in his party. It's coming from the top, Dan. It's coming from the White House, Dan. It's coming from your f***ing party. Man up and call for the resignation of the leader of the Republican Party not just the lowly Chair of the county party.

County Chair, Keith Nielsen, posted a clearly racist meme with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King and a banana. In his defense he stated:
"It is unfortunate that the sentiment of the quote and my admiration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has been overshadowed by people’s misinterpretation of an image.”
There is no other reason for putting a banana in a meme of a Black civil rights leader. None. At all. Zero. Zip. Nada. He should resign. Immediately. And take his flag pin and cross with him.

The Texas Republican Party. This is what they have become. (R)racist

The old saying "Not every republican is a racist, but every racist is a republican." isn't true anymore.

The Bexar County Chair of the Republican Party Cynthia Brehm posted on Facebook a conspiracy theory that the killing of George Floyd was a setup to make Trump look bad. (As if he needs any help) This isn't her first racist rodeo and the Governor has asked for her resignation. Lucky for her she was elected by republicans in Bexar County. They haven't called for anything except for pizza delivery.

She wasn't alone. Nieces County Republican Party Chair, Jim Kaelin, shared the same post and Sue Piner, chair of the Comal County GOP also posted a racist meme. From The Texas Tribune:
Even later Thursday, Democrats also criticized a fourth post from a GOP chair on Facebook. Sue Piner, chair of the Comal County GOP, shared a post on Sunday that included an image of liberal billionaire George Soros and text that said, "I pay white cops to murder black people. And then I pay black people to riot because race wars keep the sheep in line."
And then there is the newly elected Harris County Republican Party Chair,  Keith Nielsen. He deserves a post all for himself.

Every republican is a racist.

Little Baby Briscoe gets a little boys haircut

You just can't make this up.

Texas State Representative Little Baby Briscoe Cain had to own the Coronavirus and defied Governor Abbott's executive order in order to get a little boys hair cut. It really takes a little man to openly defy a government mandate. It's as if the Republican Party doesn't believe in the "rule of law" anymore. (and they don't) Anarchy. Defiance. Show off your little guns. Pull out your little dick.

That's little Baby Briscoe. He only believes in obeying the law when it comes to others. Not him. He is special. Like his haircut.

Last Republican standing. George W. Bush

WTF happened to your party?

I didn't agree with many policies of President George W. Bush especially his attack on Iraq but I never thought he was a horrible human being like Trump. I never hated him like I hate Trump, his entire family, and his ass kissing administration, elected officials, and party members.

Bush released a video calling on Americans to come together during this Coronavirus crisis and as usual Trump had to make fun of him. Typical Trump. Let's make something very clear. There is no "coming together". There is only one side that continues to lie to the American people every single day. There is only one side that is calling for armed revolt. There is only one side coddling the extreme, racists of the Republican Party. There is only one side who has no ability to remove their lips from Trump's ass, stand on their own two feet and tell him to cut it out. It's sickening.

What the living f*ck happened to you?

Republicans begin to turn on Trump even Harris County Republican Party

It might be too late for political survival.

Ohio Governor Mike Devine has decided to believe the state's scientists and health professionals instead of the Lysol drinking President....and his approval rating went up! From the New York Times:
Seven weeks into the crisis, Mr. DeWine is being guided by health experts while avoiding partisan fissures over stay-at-home orders that have been encouraged by Mr. Trump, who hopes a rebounding economy will carry him to re-election. The Ohio governor is the rare Republican official who does not automatically fall in step with Mr. Trump

Senator Mitt Romney has stepped away from Trump, voting to remove him from office after he was impeached for abuse of power. Former Senator Jeff Flake has written an op-ed encouraging the Republican Party to save itself before it's too late. (It's too late)

And my favorite is the Harris County Republican Party who has distanced itself from Trump and has refrained from mentioning his name in recent emails. They never mentioned Trump in their email announcing their annual Trump, Lincoln, Reagan dinner. They also didn't mention Trump when they cancelled the dinner and kept the money donated. They really aren't that proud of Trump even though keeping the money is a perfect Trump move.

Those running for office in 2020 might want to read Senator Jeff Flake's op-ed and stand up for the rule of law, for our Constitution, for civility, and for honesty and distance themselves from Trump or risk a sound defeat in November.

Ask former Harris County Judge Ed Emmett how keeping silent worked out for him.

Houston's very own civil rights leader: Michael Kubosh

There is so much wrong with what Houston City Councilman Michael Kubosh did yesterday by going to a restaurant which opened against the County's executive order.

Let's start with the rule of law. What the hell happened to the Republican Party that once claimed to be the king of the hill when it came to following the law, being tough on crime, and personal responsibility? Kubosh, as an elected official, openly defied a public health order and now that dog whistle tells his white wing followers that civil unrest is OK.

And lets end with Rosa Parks. Kubosh compared his hot dog fetish to Rosa Parks. From Click2Houston:
"Sometimes, civil disobedience is required to move things forward. That's why we remember Rosa Parks." Houston At-Large Council Member Michael Kubosh said.

I don't remember Rosa Parks going to a restaurant to horse down a half dozen chili dogs. I don't remember her looking for a TV camera. I don't remember her encouraging constituents to openly defy an order that was put in place in order to protect the health of the citizens of the city. Parks refused to stand to protect her rights as an American and a human being.

Kubosh, a sitting City Council member, sat his fat ass down to stuff his face, wipe his face, then put his face on TV to blow his dog whistle and declare himself the civil disobedience leader of Houston.

In the words of the Harris County Judge: "It's sad".

Raising Campaign Cash: Texas CD22

Interesting numbers coming out of CD 22.

After Sri Preston Kulkarni came within striking distance of Congressman Pete Olson, Olson quit the race and left an open seat for 17 republicans to fight over like seagulls at a picnic. Only two are left. Kulkarni won the nomination for the Democratic Party building on his campaign from 2018.

Kulkarni has raised $1.5 Million for his 2020 race with $365K cash on hand.

Kathaleen Wall raised no money but put $4.5 Million of her own money into the race. Unfortunately she came in 2nd place to Troy Nehls. Nehls only raised $382K with $24,000 cash on hand. Pierce Bush was suppose to be the savior of the party raising $1.3 Million but coming in 3rd place.

Nehls is just as bad as Wall with less money. Both are trying to win the award for kissing trump's ass. Both have racist tendencies. Both love the dog whistles. Watching them fight this out like seagulls over a French fry might actually be fun.

Keep your eye on your dignity

It's hard to watch someone soil themselves.

Congressman Dan Crenshaw lost an eye fighting for our country and now he has lost his dignity kissing Donald trump's ass. According to The Washington Post Crenshaw's video of himself kissing trumps ass was full of misinformation. My favorite is:

Crenshaw adds it was the “same day, Jan. 31, that Nancy Pelosi proposed the No Ban Act, which would actually stop President Trump from implementing the lifesaving travel restrictions that he did implement.”

Pelosi didn’t propose the No Ban Act on Jan. 31. The bill had been introduced by another member a year ago

This is what the Republican Party has become. A bunch of ass kissing liars. It is who they are. They are Trump.

Tx Representative Money Mayes Middleton: Money Matters

State Representative "Money" Mayes Middleton from Galveston has gathered a few of his republican buddies and wrote to Governor Abbott to urge him to return the state to work.

"We need you to open the state so a few Texans can be the guinea pigs for this viral experiment. Sure some, maybe many, will die, but my stock options need your help and their sacrifice."

Ok. That isn't what he wrote, but you get the idea. Money Mayes put $2.5Million of his own money into his run for State Representative spending 5 times more than what would have been necessary if the race was competitive. It wasn't. Not even close. This is a new thing for the Republican Party. Find a rich person, let them use their own money, hope for a win. Some have not been successful such as Kathaline Walls and Tony Buzbee. They lost in an embarrassing fashion. Mayes won his race and is serving up his constituents to the virus.

Money's letter contains the new dog whistle calling the COVID-19 the "Wuhan virus", Wuhan being a replacement for China. He only got 8 other republicans to sign this letter, notably missing is State Representative Dennis Paul in an adjacent district. Paul's wife is Asian-American. He did get the signature of Little Baby Briscoe from Baytown but considering Briscoe's radical, racist comments in the past, that was expected. And he got right wing nut Tony Tinderholdt who is working on his 5th or 6th marriage. Others who signed on are:

Matt Krause
Valoree Swanson
Bill Zeldler
Matt Schaefer
Kyle Biedermann
Mike Lang
Tony Tinderholdt

Former Clear Lake Congressman, Steve Stockman, seeks pardon

Steve Stockman was elected to congress to serve in Texas Congressional District 9. He served 1 term. He returned 16 years later and won in the newly created district 36. He served one term and then was convicted on 23 of 24 felony counts. He is serving a 10 year sentence in federal prison.

Stockman is now asking for a pardon from Trump due to the Coronavirus hoax. If Stockman was still in office he would probably be leading the effort  against the Coronavirus response by our elected officials. He would probably be posting pictures of himself at church with his minions. He would probably be walking around with an AR15 strapped to his back at the grocery store. This is who he is. He is a felon. He is an asshole. A perfect candidate for a pardon.

Just an FYI. From a previous post:
Stockman represented the Clear Lake area for 2 years and was nothing but a jackass. He accomplished nothing. His entire 2 years was devoted to making wise ass comments on twitter, questioning Obama's place of birth, and gun nuttery.
He doesn't deserve a pardon which is probably why he will get one.

Fort Bend Sheriff Tony Nehls support of racist Wall. (Kathaleen Wall)

Click pic for dog whistle video
Ask Judge Ed Emmett what happens when you stand with a racist and keep your mouth shut.

Kathaleen Wall is a candidate endorsed by Governor Abbott, spending her own money to win a seat in Congress, and has recently sent out a racist ad concerning the Coronavirus. She is in a runoff in CD22 against Fort Bend Sheriff Tony Nehls.

When your opponent, or someone you know, says something that is racially dividing or just plain racist, you have two options. 1) Denounce it. Say it is wrong. Say the statement does not represent you, your campaign, or the party. or 2) Stay quiet as if you agree.

Judge Emmett stayed quiet while his leader made racist comments over and over again. He lost his job in 2018. Nehls has been quiet. Not a peep out of him. Zero. Zip. Nada. The Texas Democratic Party as well as the Democratic nominee for CD22 has not been quiet. From a press conference:
From Donald Trump to John Cornyn to Kathaleen Wall, Republicans everywhere have taken to racist dog-whistles to distract from their mismanagement of the coronavirus crisis. This racist rhetoric is dangerous to our Texas AAPI community, the fastest growing community in the state, and has already caused a “spike in prejudice” against Asian Americans
It's as if Tony Nehls, Greg Abbott, John Cornyn, and the entire Republican Party agrees with racist Walls. It's who they are. It's what they have become.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issues uniforms for poll workers

April 7, 2020 | Austin, Texas | Press Release

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued the following statement in response to vote by mail in Texas for the June runoffs

The great state of Texas is under attack by an invisible enemy causing our great economy to collapse and interfering with our elections. In response to those who want to implement vote by mail for all voters I have decided to issue safety equipment, a uniform fashioned by NASA, to all poll workers in order to safety conduct elections at voting centers across the state.

Each worker will be provided a form fitting personal protective equipment. This will protect each worker from spreading the virus and from contracting the virus. Each piece of equipment will have a breathing filter as well as a diaper fashioned from NASA technology and a holding tank for poo. Not only will you be protected you will also be able to do your work looking like an Astronaut.

We hope this will encourage all poll workers to come to work during early voting and on Election Day
